The Launch Event of the ERC-ADG project GreekSchools – The Greek philosophical schools according to Europe’s earliest ‘history of philosophy’: Towards a new pioneering critical edition of Philodemus’ Arrangement of the Philosophers will take place from 9:15 to 12:30 of Monday 18 January 2021.
The project aims to test the most advanced technologies available today for deciphering Herculaneum papyri, which contain the oldest history of European philosophy.
The project, led by Graziano Ranocchia (Principal Investigator) of the University of Pisa, boasts the participation of the University of Pisa (Coordinator), the Institute for Cultural Heritage Sciences and the Institute for Computational Linguistics “Antonio Zampolli” of the National Research Council of Italy and the National Library of Naples of the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and for Tourism.
